The Christmas Box International (CBI) works with partners to prevent child abuse and improve the quality of life for children who have been abused or neglected. CBI was founded in 1996 by New York Times best-selling author Richard Paul Evans (The Christmas Box) with the motto every child deserves a childhood.
Annually CBI serves more than 3,000 children, providing over 26,000 days of care through the Salt Lake, Ogden and Moab Christmas Box Houses – emergency shelters for children removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.
CBI also assists youth who are aging out of foster care by providing them with Christmas Box Move-In Kits containing home-starter items to help with their transition to living on their own. This year CBI will provide kits to all youth transitioning in Utah, Idaho, Nevada and Wyoming.
CBI provides needed resources internationally. Last year CBI provided hundreds of thousands of dollars of in-kind donations to assist at-risk children world-wide. Sponsorships and volunteers are needed to support events and the Christmas Box Houses.
