About my charities:
My father co-founded Children's Miracle Network in 1982 along with the Osmond family. Their member hospitals treat 17 million children annually. Children's Miracle Network hospitals treat children with cancer, pediatric AIDS, muscular dystrophy, heart disease, leukemia, sickle cell anemia, asthma and accident trauma.
I spent 18 years working with their annual telethons, 4 years working with one of their sponsors and 4 years directing the CMN program at one of their member hospitals. Not only was I treated myself at one of their hospitals, but my sister had her life saved at one and my niece was life-flighted to a member hospital after birth and spent 10 days in the NICU. You can see why this cause is important to me.
I currently work for Starfish Television Network.
A public, non-profit 501(c)(3) itself, Starfish Television Network is the only television network in the country dedicated to telling the incredible stories of the nation's nonprofit organizations. We deliver timely, accurate information and news about charitable and other worthy causes to entertain, educate, and empower our viewers. And by so doing, we help those worthy causes fulfill their vital mission.
And we currently provide all air time at no cost to the organization. This makes donations like those through uPlej important because we want all organizations to have the same opportunity to tell their story. Only through corporate sponsors, acknowledgment fees, grants and donations.
